What did Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم mean by this, when he said that we should live our lives like travellers?

It means that just as a Musafir (i.e. a traveller) is a stranger
(i.e. someone in a foreign place), and just as a wayfarer usually does not participate in the entertainment and vices on the road, in fear of the road becoming unsafe for him, thus leading to the possibility of being unsuccessful in reaching his actual destination.

Similarly, a Muslim should not be ensnared by the vices of the world, and he should not form such associations which will become obstacles that hinder him from reaching his actual goal.
